Location

Disputed Unidentified. The Critical Edition reaches it along the eastern sea coast beyond Kalinga and Mount Mahendra; the popular identification with Manipur in the north-east rests on the vulgate name Manipura

Note

Chitrangada's city, where Arjuna marries and their son Babhruvahana is born (CE 1.207–1.209). The vulgate and most retellings call it Manipura. The marker sits on the Odisha coast where the text's route places it, and should be read as uncertain.
